Luuk Pelkmans (NED) led after the high jump and again after the discus. Trościanka led the other eight events and never by much until the javelin: one point after the long jump, 42 after the pole vault, then 284 with one event to run.
Trościanka was above his series in every event on day 1 bar the long jump, and 214 up on it at the break with 4361 points, 46.21 in the 400m worth 998 of them. Day 2 added 70 more. The pole vault was the largest single gain, 4.80 for 118 points above his series, and the 1500m was the only real loss, 28 below it. The 8514 beats the 8230 he scored at Lima in August 2024.
Luuk Pelkmans finished 337 above his own PB series, the second largest gain of the competition, with 8293 points and a personal best over the 8016 he scored at Heerenveen. He was above his series after every event, most of it accumulated late: 59 points in the discus, 88 in the pole vault and 74 in the javelin. He led twice and was second at the day break, after the hurdles and at the finish.
Leon Krummenacher (SUI) produced the largest gain of the meeting. He was eighth at the day break on 3904 and already 177 points above his series, added another 250 on day 2, and finished third on 7972, 427 above it and a personal best over the 7545 he scored at Landquart in May.
Personal bests reached well down the field: Moritz Bartko (GER) fourth 167 above his series, Lionel Brügger (SUI) sixth 5 above, Leon-Joel Clair (GER) eighth 8 above.
